Plantation Program on World Environment Day 2024

On World Environment Day 2024, SMCRF organized a plantation program on the Pangolin Trail of Baghbhairav Community Forest in Machhegaun, Kirtipur. This initiative was conducted in collaboration with Kirtipur Municipality, the Division Forest Office of Kathmandu, Baghbhairav Community Forest and The Mohamed bin Zayad Species Conservation Fund. Fifty participants, including students from Baghbhairav School, local social workers, members of the Baghbhairav Community Forest user group, University students, and other community members took part in the event.

During the program, around 150 saplings of various plant species, including fruit-bearing plants, were planted. These efforts aim to provide a food source for wildlife and help mitigate human-wildlife conflict to some extent.
