Sharing Workshop on Bat Conservation Action Plan for Kathmandu Valley

SMCRF organized a Sharing workshop on site specific Bat conservation action plan (2018-2023) for Kathmandu valley on July 20, 2018 at Indreni Foodland and Banquet, New Baneshwor, Kathmandu.  The objective of the workshop was to discuss and revise on the draft of the bat conservation action plan for the Kathmandu valley. Altogether, 36 persons representing several institutions such as National Agricultural Research Institute, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu Forestry College; local authorities such as municipalities, Metropolitan city; government agencies such as DNPWC, DoF, DoPR; conservation partners (ZSL, Hariyo Ban Program, NTNC, IUCN Nepal, Himalayan Nature etc.); media persons participated in the four hours event. Mrs. Tulshi Laxmi Suwal, President of Small Mammals Conservation and Research Foundation (SMCRF) welcomed the participants. Mr. Sanjan Thapa, Director of SMCRF delivered an hour presentation on the action plan draft. Then the draft was discussed on the forum, guests from different institutions provided their feedback and suggestions for the improvement and revision of the draft. At the end, Mr. Ram Chandra Kandel, Deputy Director, Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC) delivered his remarks and suggestions for the way forward.
