On 31st August 2021, SMCRF in collaboration with Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park (SNNP) office organized an event from 17:00-21:00 hr at Panimuhan to celebrate International Bat Night 2021. Altogether 75 participants including invited guests and the park rangers and other staffs participated in the event. During the event, bat flights over water reservoir were observed, administered harp trap and a mist net were demonstrated. Bat detector Pettersson D240X was operated to confirm the passing by bats in the evening. Ms. Varsha Rai, Executive member of SMCRF welcomed the participants, Mr. Sanjan Thapa, researcher at SMCRF shared information on bats records from SNNP and several guests, Mr. Bhim Ghimire from Kantipur Publication, Dr. Narendra Man Babu Pradhan, IUCN Nepal, Stuart Chapman, Tigers Alive Initiative, Dr. Shanta Raj Jnawali, WWF Nepal delivered their speeches. Chief Conservation Officer, Mr. Laxman Prasad Poudyal expressed vote of thanks to all participants and concluded the event.
